City/County Overview

Crawfordsville is a small town of 15,000 in west central Indiana. It is the county seat for Montgomery County, which has a total of 35,500 residents.

Crawfordsville was rated 43^rd in the second edition of "The Best 100 Small Towns in America", written by Norman Crampton. This rating was based on factors such as per capita income, crime rate, annual growth rate, number of physicians, etc.

Indianapolis and Lafayette are 30 to 45 minutes away, making them both ideal commuting distances from Crawfordsville.

Chicago (165 miles), St. Louis (235 miles), Cincinnati (151 miles) and Louisville (151 miles) are all within a few hours of Crawfordsville.
In addition to a large agricultural base, Montgomery County has 35 major industrial businesses employing about 7,900 workers. These businesses make things such as travel trailers, bottle caps, industrial lighting, car parts as well as many other products.
